SWORT wants its website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.
1. Our commitment
We treat accessibility as an engineering requirement rather than an afterthought. When we find a barrier, we log it and fix it in the normal course of development.
2. Target standard
Our engineering target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA.
3. Current status
We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not completed comprehensive manual and automated testing across the whole website, so we do not claim full conformance.
Measures currently in place include visible keyboard focus indicators, a skip link on legal pages, semantic headings and landmarks, labelled form fields with inline error messages, support for the reduced-motion browser setting, and keyboard-accessible cookie preferences.
4. Known limitations
We are aware of the following and are working on them:
- The interactive 3D hardware viewer is a visual experience and is not fully operable by keyboard.
- The SSIL simulator uses sliders and a canvas visualization that are not fully exposed to assistive technology.
- Some technical diagrams and canvas graphics do not yet have complete text alternatives.
- Some small supporting text does not yet meet the contrast ratio we are targeting.
- Some controls in specialized viewers are smaller than our target touch-target size.
This list is not exhaustive. If you find a barrier that is not listed, please tell us.
5. Alternatives to interactive content
No essential information is available only through an interactive 3D or simulated element. Where we use those elements, we also describe the same information in text on the same page. If you need an alternative format for anything on the site, contact us and we will provide it.
6. Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email [email protected] with the page address, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you were using, if you are comfortable sharing that. Specific reports help us reproduce and fix issues quickly.
7. Requesting an accommodation
If you need information from this website in another format, or you need an accommodation to complete a form, apply for a role, or book a session, email [email protected] and tell us what would work for you. We will find a reasonable way to help.
8. How we respond
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports and accommodation requests within a reasonable period, prioritizing anything that blocks someone from contacting us or applying for a role. We will tell you what we plan to do and when we expect to do it.
This page describes our approach to accessibility. It is not a disclaimer of responsibility.
9. Last reviewed
This statement was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of this page. We review it when we make significant changes to the website.
