Research Partnerships

Two directions of collaboration.

SWORT works with institutions, technical organizations, and individual researchers on aerospace-electronics and sensor-integrity problems. Support can flow in either direction.

Choose a direction

Sponsoring SWORT, or proposing work to SWORT.

These are different relationships with different obligations. They are kept apart deliberately, including in the forms below.

Sponsor SWORT research

For companies, institutions, foundations, and technical organizations that may fund or materially support SWORT R&D. Support can take the form of sponsored research, hardware, laboratory access, test equipment, flight platforms, data access, technical review, or joint validation programs.

Apply for SWORT-supported research

For researchers, students, laboratories, and engineering teams proposing work aligned with SWORT's technical direction. SWORT reviews selected proposals for possible collaboration, sponsorship, platform support, or inclusion in future programs.

This is not a grant program. SWORT reviews selected research and engineering proposals for potential technical collaboration, sponsorship, platform support, or inclusion in future programs. Submission does not guarantee funding or selection.

Research areas

Where collaboration makes sense.

Proposals outside these areas are still read, but these are where SWORT can contribute hardware, data, or technical depth.

Sensor integrity

Deciding which measurements deserve to be believed, and on what evidence.

Embedded avionics

Deterministic firmware on constrained targets, and the hardware-software boundary.

Estimation and state validation

Filter behaviour under degraded, biased, or inconsistent inputs.

Fault detection and isolation

Identifying which channel is wrong rather than only that something is wrong.

Aerospace electronics

Mixed-signal design, power integrity, and manufacturable layout.

GNC hardware

Guidance, navigation, and control hardware and its sensor interfaces.

Telemetry systems

Link design, packet structure, and ground-side handling of vehicle data.

Simulation and validation

Sensor and disturbance models, and evidence that a design behaves as specified.

Hardware-in-the-loop testing

Rigs, fault injection, and exercising firmware against representative dynamics.

Autonomous-system reliability

How much authority a platform should hold when its inputs are uncertain.

Path B

Submit a research proposal.

Send a non-sensitive summary first. If it is a fit, SWORT will ask for detail through a method appropriate to the material.

Before you submit: Do not submit confidential, export-controlled, proprietary technical, financial, or client information through this form. Submissions are handled by SWORT directly and are not routed through a third-party form processor. No attachments are accepted.

Proposal received

Submission does not guarantee review, sponsorship, funding, partnership, or confidentiality.

A separate written agreement is required before any confidential collaboration. SWORT may ask for a short non-confidential technical brief before going further.

If your work may involve export-controlled or otherwise restricted information, do not send further material until SWORT confirms an appropriate method.
