Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 July 2026 Last updated: 27 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SWORT LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you visit swort.net or submit information through it. We keep collection to what is needed to answer your inquiry, schedule a meeting, review an application, and operate the website securely.

1. Who operates this website

This website is operated by SWORT LLC ("SWORT", "we", "us"), a United States limited liability company. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

2. Scope

This policy covers the swort.net website. It does not cover information handled under a separate signed agreement with a customer or partner, employment relationships after hiring, or third-party websites we link to.

3. Information you submit through forms

Our project intake form collects your name, email address, organization, project type, vehicle type, timeline, budget range, how you found us, and your written project description. Some fields are required and are marked in the form; the rest are optional.

Our engineering-updates signup collects only an email address.

4. Booking information

When you book a technical session, we collect your name, email address, organization, selected service and budget range, any notes you write, and the date, time, and timezone you select. This information is used to create a calendar event and to send confirmations to you and to us. Calendar entries persist in our business calendar until deleted.

5. Careers and applicant information

If you apply through our careers page, we collect your name, email address, location, the role you are interested in, links you provide such as LinkedIn or a portfolio, a resume link or text, and your written answers. We use this only to evaluate your application and to contact you about it.

6. Technical descriptions you submit

Free-text fields let you describe a project, mission profile, or prior work. Please provide only what is appropriate to share. Do not submit classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information, export-controlled technical data, third-party confidential information, sensitive personal information, or proprietary engineering files through this website. We will provide an approved secure intake method when a program requires one.

7. Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, our hosting and security provider and our analytics and advertising technologies may receive:

8. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items. Our website also stores a short-lived rate-limit marker and your cookie-consent choices in your browser's local storage. A full inventory, including provider, purpose, and how to control each item, is in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choices at any time using the control in the footer.

9. Analytics and advertising

We use a Google advertising tag to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Advertising and optional analytics technologies do not load until you make a consent choice, and they remain off if you reject non-essential technologies. Where these technologies are enabled, Google may receive information about your visit and may use identifiers associated with your browser or device. Google's handling of that information is governed by Google's own policies.

Depending on how advertising technologies are configured, some United States state privacy laws may treat certain advertising activity as "sharing" or "selling" of personal information. We are reviewing our advertising configuration and will state our position clearly in this policy once that review is complete. In the meantime, you can reject non-essential technologies at any time using Cookie Preferences, and we will honor a Global Privacy Control signal.

11. How we use information

12. Security and abuse prevention

We serve the site over HTTPS with a content security policy and other security headers, and we apply rate limiting to our endpoints. Access to submissions is limited to people who need it to respond. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, safety, property, or the rights and safety of others, or to investigate fraud or abuse.

14. Business transfers

If SWORT is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information covered by this policy may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will seek to ensure the recipient honors this policy or provides notice of any material change.

15. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal obligations. Booking entries remain in our calendar until removed. You may ask us to delete information you submitted, as described below.

16. Deletion and access requests

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, or to stop sending you updates. Email [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate the information, such as the email address you used and roughly when you submitted it. We will respond within a reasonable period and within any timeframe required by applicable law.

Some information may need to be retained where we have a legal obligation or a legitimate business need, such as records of a completed engagement.

17. International processing

SWORT is based in the United States, and our providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access the website from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

18. Children's privacy

The website is intended for business, engineering, and professional audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

19. United States state privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, to access or obtain a copy of it, to request correction, to request deletion, and to opt out of certain processing such as targeted advertising. Residents of California and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah, may have these or similar rights.

To exercise a right, email [email protected]. You may also reject non-essential technologies at any time through .

20. Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may ask for proof of the agent's authorization and may still ask you to verify your own identity.

21. Identity verification

To protect your information, we may ask you to provide details that let us match your request to information we hold, such as the email address used in a submission. We use verification information only to process your request.

22. Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

23. Browser privacy signals

Where the Global Privacy Control signal is present, we treat it as a request to reject non-essential technologies, including advertising, and we default those categories to off. You can still adjust your choices through Cookie Preferences.

24. Student Research Program

SWORT publishes coursework for the Student Research Program on this domain, at addresses beginning /learn. Those pages are written for students, and some participants are under 18. They are reached directly rather than through the navigation on the rest of this website, and they are not part of the business and engineering audience described in section 18.

The coursework pages run entirely in the browser. Work in progress, and an identifier a participant enters so that their work can be recognised when they return, are held in that browser's local storage on the participant's own device. That information is not transmitted to SWORT by the page and is not stored on a SWORT server. Clearing browser storage removes it. A participant using a shared or public computer should clear it when finished, and the pages provide a control that does so.

Completed coursework reaches SWORT only when a participant chooses to send it from their own email account. At that point SWORT receives what the participant chose to send, together with the email address it was sent from, and holds it for the purpose of reviewing the work. Nothing submitted through a form elsewhere on this website is treated as coursework.

A participant, or a parent or guardian acting for a participant under 18, may ask SWORT to delete coursework sent by email, and may ask what SWORT holds, by writing to [email protected]. SWORT does not use coursework or a participant's email address for advertising, does not sell it, and does not share it with third parties for their own purposes. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code runs on the coursework pages.

25. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The effective date and last-updated date appear at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date.
