Founder and CEO, SWORT Aerospace
Andres Pena is the founder and technical lead of SWORT Aerospace, directing the company's work across embedded avionics, flight-computer architecture, sensor integration, custom PCB development, STM32 firmware, telemetry, simulation, and system validation for autonomous aerospace platforms.
He leads technical execution from initial requirements and system architecture through hardware development, firmware integration, verification, and engineering handoff. His work includes the development of SWORT's sensor-trust and fault-detection research, including SSIL, as well as the delivery of custom aerospace-electronics programs for private customers.
At SWORT, Andres is responsible for company strategy, technical direction, product architecture, customer programs, and the transition of validated research into deployable embedded systems.
How the team is assembled
Capability is assembled per program, not held on standby.
SWORT is small and says so. What follows is how work actually gets staffed, and the distinctions the company keeps clear rather than blurring into one word.
Architecture, the protected sensor-integrity work, and final technical accountability sit with the founder. That is not a gap to be filled later; it is how the core stays coherent.
Specific engagements bring in contract engineers and collaborators for defined scope. They are contractors, and SWORT describes them that way rather than presenting them as staff.
Some work happens with researchers and institutions under separate agreements. A collaborator is not an employee, an advisor, or an endorsement.
Whoever holds a subsystem holds it from requirement through bring-up to verification. There is no layer between an engineer and the consequences of a decision.
Design rationale is written down, firmware and layouts are reviewed, and a rejection comes with a reason. Deliverables include the sources and test records, not just the artifact.
Work is remote unless a program needs hands on hardware, in which case bench time is arranged. Requirements are stated per engagement rather than assumed.
